Bexley Canopy FAQS
The roof is made from a high quality and durable plastic, which is available in a standard clear finish (offers 80% light transmittance), coloured options, opaque and a smoked grey colour.
The plastic panels are also UV-resistant, which provides excellent protection from the sun's harmful rays.
You can select different finishes for the steel frame (galvanised or powder coated to any RAL colour - galvanising is carried out in accordance with BS EN ISO 1461:2009), different colours for the plastic roof (clear, coloured, opaque or smoked grey), bespoke sizing available to fit your space, and different security additions.

Bexley Canopy
The Bexley Canopy is manufactured in a mild steel frame, hot dipped galvanised as standard and can be powder coated in a wide range of RAL or BS colours.
It’s a contemporary looking canopy that will suit a wide range of outdoor spaces and environments, and it consists of a flat monopitch roof with a 5 degree fall, clad with UV stable PET sheeting (rainwater gutters can be included).
Available as surface mounted or sub-surface fixed.
Commercial canopies and walkways
The Bexley Canopy is part of a wide range of commercial canopies and walkways offered by Bailey Streetscene.
It is a modular and versatile design that enhances outdoor areas in various outdoor education projects such as schools and universities.
Architects benefit from specifying the Bexley Canopy due to its strength and contemporary aesthetics. The mild steel frame carries an impressive strength-to-weight ratio, compared with other steel types. This is due to the fact it carries the lowest amount of carbon within the steel (which is in the range of 0.05 to 0.25%).
The lower carbon nature of the mild steel also benefits build projects as it makes the shelters less likely to fracture under pressure. Indeed, it actually makes the steel more malleable and flexible. This gives architects confidence that designing and specifying the Bexley Canopy will give their clients a canopy structure that will last for many years, and will also require little maintenance.
For main contractors and installers, the lightweight nature of the Bexley Canopy makes it a firm favourite. Not only is it easier to transport to site and move around site, but it is easier to work with and install.

Bexley Canopy projects
The Bexley Canopy has been specified in outdoor projects across the UK. It was designed as part of a £21 million renovation scheme at Whitehouse and Fairfield schools, carried out by Willmott Dixon.
Bailey Streetscene were pleased to work with Willmott Dixon, designing all the supplied street furniture products around the existing buildings, ensuring they matched the aesthetics.
Part of the street furniture package was the Bexley Canopy which was used to extend cover for outdoor areas next to some of the school buildings. We supplied and installed package safely, on time and within budget.
