Wade Deacon High School required a complete external furniture package to complete the redevelopment of the schools public communal areas, with the focus on encouraging social interaction and creating functional yet relaxing outdoor spaces. Bailey Streetscene were approached by main contractors Vinci construction after successfully completing previous projects for the customer.
Bailey Streetscene were asked to tender a bid for the external street furniture package which included both standard and bespoke products. After a lengthy design consultation period with all stakeholders including the school, council, architect, contractor and Bailey streetscene, the contract was secured and work began.
Key challenges of the project were coordinating with ground workers and other trades on site to fit in delivery and installation of street furniture with the project schedule.
Working closely in conjunction with Vinci construction and the ground workers, Bailey Streetscene delivered and installed street furniture in two separate stages and all installations were scheduled to meet tight time constraints and comply with site regulations.
Bailey Streetscene's proven track record of working quickly and efficiently as part of wider team meant that the delivery of the complete coordinated street furniture package was a seamless element of the overall project. The end result was a high quality external space for students to enjoy.
